View to Crater Hill on the north shore of Kauai. This is adjacent to Kilauea Lighthouse. It is the view from the lanai where we are staying. We also have views or the river and the ocean. This is a 410 second exposure which was converted to B&W with a Silver Effex2.

Taro fields in infrared. I used my Fuji X100s with a Hoya R72 infrared filter. I shot raw plus jpeg using an in-camera b&w conversion jpg as the starting point. The color version was taken with my Nikon D800e and shot at 24 mm. This is at 35mm.

This is a C formed from a seashell. I used quick mask and created a new layer from selecting the shell. I removed the original background and used a texture for the background. I then used a second texture to give the shell (C) some more definition. Then I brought the image I to Perfect Effects and added a frame and a texture throughout.

Red-crested cardinal. I found it fascinating that this bird is not in the cardinal family but a tanager. This was on the deck of the rental home in Kileaua, Kauai.
