Nestucca River Water Swirls - taken today on a road up the Nestucca River to some BLM land. The river was beautiful as well as the moss laden trees and rocks. Happy New Year to all. My heartfelt thanks for all the support over the last year. I look forward to participating in 2013. Thanks for making my Astoria Bridge image number one.

12-26-12 Storm Over the Columbia. This is the tidal flats of Fort Stevens State Park in Hammond, Oregon. I have been frequenting this area to see the Snowy Owls. On Christmas Eve, I saw 3 and photographed them, nothing special since they were so far away. We went again today and saw two owls. The weather was very stormy and this was the wonderful lighting in between squalls. This is a 5 stop HDR. I was trying to use my 10 stop ND. However, when the rain started coming down, I got too many water spots on the filter. More than would be practical to clean up since for the long exposure, I was shooting at f16.
Critiques Welcome.12-24-12 Garibaldi Marina - I was able to shoot this image this morning. I was finally able to get out and try shooting with my new Lee Big Stopper (10 stop ND) that I bought about a month ago. First chance that the weather permitted a long exposure that I was able to get out. This is a three exposure stack 25 sec, 30 sec, and 40 sec.
Critiques Welcome.12-21-12 Another Portland Head Lighthouse Shot - thanks for all the wonderful support and comments for my photos of late. Recently there have been just some incredible images. I appreciate the feedback and critiques as well. I often enjoy doing multiple versions of an image. I hope that you all joy that as well.

12-15-12 Portland Head Lighthouse, Portland, Maine I just returned today from my business trip to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I ended up having most of the day free on Friday so I headed up to Maine and visited this lighthouse at dawn. Lucky for me that sunrise is late since I hadn't totally switched to eastern time. I'm tired today since yesterday/this morning I was up for 22 hours straight. I also want to thank Mulu and Mike for getting up early to travel with me. I have been processing some of my photos. This was an HDR processed in Photomatix Pro, converted to Black and White in Silver Effex Pro 2, and texture and frame came from Photoframe.
Critiques Welcome.12-6-12 Another view from the Pier 66 Bridge. I was thrilled with all your comments yesterday and that my Pier 66 waterfront image was number one.
My apologies for not being able to finish commenting on photos. The site went into read mode while I was reviewing and commenting on images. We certainly had some really good images yesterday.
Critiques Welcome.12-2-12 The Textured Orchid - This was taken at the Seattle Conservancy. I processed this using Color Effex 4 and textures from Flypaper Textures.
I will be leaving next week for a business trip to Portsmouth, NH. If anyone has any tips for photography or places to eat lobster I would be grateful.

11-15-12 Matthews Beach Foggy Morning - I was heading out to work this morning and saw such beautiful fall light. There was fog rising out of the lake at sunrise. I decided to take a quick run to the lake at the expense of getting to work a little late and was fortunate enough to photograph this image. I processed this as an HDR done in Photomatix using the natural (fusion) setting which just extends the dynamic range. I did the post processing using the new OnOne Suite 7 where I also added a texture. I think there will be additional images that I will share from this shoot. I used my Panasonic GH2.
Critiques Welcome.11-14-12 Coquille Long Exposure. This was an 130 sec exposure using a ten stop neutral density filter. I like how this blurred the cloud movement.
