11-13-12 Bandon Long Exposure - I went looking through my photos look for more contenders for my first assignment. I will be submitting it tomorrow. This is a 6 sec exposure.
Thanks for all the feedback and thoughts about my two images. I am currently leaning towards the first one uploaded called Samish River Long Exposure but I will not decide until tomorrow.
Added Info: This rock formation is called Face Rock and to the right are the kittens. There is a folklore about this. Local legend says that Face Rock is the face of an Indian maiden that was frozen into stone by an evil spirit. The Cat and Kittens Rock are her animals that were thrown into the sea and turned to stone by the same evil spirit.

10-25-12 Downtown Pier Reflections - This was taken on the Seattle waterfront while I was walking on the same pier when I shot the Ferris wheel. This is an extraction from the patterns that were reflecting in the water. I was drawn to the abstract patterns and colors. This was processed in Lightroom 4. Thanks for all the comments on yesterday's image of the pier and the wheel.

11-15-12 Matthews Beach Foggy Morning - I was heading out to work this morning and saw such beautiful fall light. There was fog rising out of the lake at sunrise. I decided to take a quick run to the lake at the expense of getting to work a little late and was fortunate enough to photograph this image. I processed this as an HDR done in Photomatix using the natural (fusion) setting which just extends the dynamic range. I did the post processing using the new OnOne Suite 7 where I also added a texture. I think there will be additional images that I will share from this shoot. I used my Panasonic GH2.

Nestucca River Water Swirls - taken today on a road up the Nestucca River to some BLM land. The river was beautiful as well as the moss laden trees and rocks. Happy New Year to all. My heartfelt thanks for all the support over the last year. I look forward to participating in 2013. Thanks for making my Astoria Bridge image number one.

4-6-13 Tillamook Bay - down on the Oregon Coast on a windy rainy afternoon. We drove out to Bay Ocean Spit before the rain started pelting. I did some long exposure work for my class/project until I got drops on my filter. I used 13 stops of ND and exposed this image for 357 sec ( almost 6 minutes).

4-7-13 Tillamook Bay, Oregon. This was taken at the same time as the image I posted yesterday. I used my Lee Big Stopper for 10 stops of ND compared to 13 stops. I am taking a long exposure class where I am earning to vary the exposures. I think I like the 30 sec exposure better than the 357 sec exposure http://www.ilenesamowitz.com/Photo-A-Day/PAD2013/i-ckkRpZ8/0/M/20130406-_IS04253-M.jpg .....what do you think?

9-9-13 Rockaway Beach, Oregon late summer sunset. One thing I will miss when we move south is these reflecting pools at low tide sunsets. This is a wonderful feature of this beach.

9-10-13 This is a 25 second exposure of the Skykomish River in the North Cascades, Washington. I used a polarizer to add depth to the color of the reflections.
To all who asked about my move south. I am still living in Seattle and we have a place in Rockaway Beach, Oregon where we have planned on retiring to until recently. We purchased 2.6 acres in Waldport, Oregon about .25 mile from the ocean. (This location is about 100 miles south of Rockaway Beach and about 300 miles SW of Seattle hence south.) We do to have an exact timeframe of our move but our ultimate destination is to Sunny Sitka (our nickname since it seems like it is unseasonably sunny there whenever we are there) and Sitka Ridge is is the name of the street) just 3 miles south of Waldport and 6 miles north of Yachats, Oregon. From PAD2013
