Ilene Samowitz has been interested in photography since the early 80’s when she got her first SLR camera. She began photographing landscapes and nature photography and learned to do her own black and white development. Ilene began shooting digital in 2000 and got her first digital SLR in 2004. She now shoots with Olympus cameras. She particularly loves to focus on the unseen. Ilene has always loved the outdoors and has her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in geology/geophysics. She became an avid birder in the 90’s, a master birder in 2004, and now combines both her love of birds, nature, family pets and awe aspiring scenery with her love of photography.
